Moonshot AI is a Beijing-based AI company founded in 2023 that builds the Kimi assistant, the Kimi large language models and an LLM API platform.

## About the Moonshot AI logo

The Moonshot AI mark is a solid circle cut by diagonal stripes, so it reads as a moon broken into bands of light. The full logo pairs it with a rounded, geometric "Moonshot AI" wordmark. Both files come from the wordmark on moonshot.ai. The company says it took its name from the far side of the moon, which always faces away from Earth.

The logo is a single flat color. The site shows it in white on a dark page, and the black version here vanishes on dark backgrounds, so use the monochrome file there.

## When to use this logo

Use the Moonshot AI logo when you mean the company: AI lab overviews, model provenance tables, API provider lists and slides about China's AI industry. When you mean the chat app or the models themselves, use the Kimi logo instead. It pairs naturally with Kimi, Zhipu (Z.ai), MiniMax, DeepSeek and Alibaba's Qwen.
