## About the GIMP logo

The GIMP logo is Wilber, the project's mascot: a grey-brown creature with big eyes and a paintbrush held in its mouth, with an orange-brown handle (#EA8113 to #6E3D09). Tuomas Kuosmanen created Wilber in 1997.

The logo reads well on light backgrounds. Wilber's dark outlines fade on very dark surfaces, but the shape stays recognisable.

## When to use this logo

Use GIMP in image editor comparisons, open-source creative tool roundups, Linux desktop app lists and design workflow docs. It pairs naturally with Adobe Photoshop, Inkscape, Blender, Krita and Photopea.
